This past week the Religion and its Publics project had lunch with Stanley Hauerwas, professor of divinity and law at Duke.

Dr Hauerwas offered to us a couple of letters that he had written to his godson every year on his birthday; a different virtue explored for each passing year.

Thirty-five UVa faculty and graduate students showed up to talk with Dr Hauerwas about having character, being a character, and Donald Trump, of course.
